Reclaiming Heritage, Rebuilding Community
Beezantium is a multifaceted project highlighting the remarkable role bees play in the ecosystem and their potent symbolism in Byzantine art and culture. The initiative empowers citizens with information and training to advance environmental sustainability in the community.
The project includes:

Public visits and veneration of the holy icon, Virgin Mary of the Bees

Academics lectures on apiculture, Byzantine culture and sustainable thinking

Workshops on Byzantine art and beekeeping

Tours of key Byzantine treasures in the region and much more!
The initiative is partly financed by the Headley South East Europe Cultural Heritage Fund and administered by the Balkan Museum Network.
